A real sleeper: Leotax Leonon 50mm f2
« on: December 16, 2018, 22:55:01 »
I picked up this lens cheap on a whim. It was only $200, considerably cheaper than its big brother (Simlar 50mm f1.5) that often goes for 10x that. It is a LTM, 39mm lens, original mounted on the Leotax-S RF camera from the 50s. These often came with either a Nikkor H or Topcor S 50mm f2 it appears, which have nothing like the character of the Leonon. One hint for those using LTM lenses on a Sony E mount: If you want some macro-focusing capability, there is a short helicoid for Leica bayonet to Sony E. Add a LTM to Leica bayonet adapting ring and you get infinity to quite close focus, continuous. AFAIK there is no LTM to Sony E with incorporated helicoid. Images are basically the same as those I just posted with the Nokton Prominent 50mm f1.5 for comparison.
