Extension Tubes for Nikon Z
« on: December 13, 2018, 19:48:14 »
Has anyone produced extension tubes for the Nikon 7, especially smaller ones? If so, I would appreciate any links there are as to where to get some.

Hi Michael, extension tubes is one reason for splitting my lens adapters.

Get a Nikon Z camera to Leica M lens adapter:
https://www.novoflex.de/en/products-637/lens-adapters//adapterfinder-products/nikon-z-mirrorless/adapter-leica-m-lenses-to-nikon-z-mount.html?rgerg=31

And this Leica M extension tube set:
https://www.novoflex.de/en/products-637/lens-adapters/extension-tube-set-leica-m.html

And then a Leica M camera to Nikon F, Canon FD, etc lens adapter to mount or extend almost any lens you want to use :)
Cheers,
Jan Anne

Apparently Fotodiox is making macro tubes for Z mount in 15 an 35 mm length.

I've ordered one also. And I have the Novoflex Leica Extension tube Set and have been using for some time with the Nikon "O" CRT versions.

What I am waiting for is the Nikon Z to sony E adapter so that I can use my Voigtlander 65mm Macro lens that I already have.

Received my copy of the Fotodiox Pro 15mm. It works well with my 50/1.8S and Sigma 105/1.4 A. The electronics works well and AF fully functional. Build quality is high. Even comes in a nice box made of bamboo, with plush lining  8)
Here's a shot (no crop) with the 50/1.8S @ f/3.5. Still more testing to be done.

Using the Fotodiox 15mm extension tube with the Z6 and 24-70mm f/4 at 70mm.

I very much feel like (with the advent of usable mirrorless cameras), we have opened the floodgates of the next level of photography-for-everyone, certainly as regards lenses and their adapters.

Of course, like many of us, I am trying to see if I can extract my particular photo style from the new mirrorless cameras, their lenses, and various adaptions. I believe I can.

In fact, I have never had so many usable lenses hitting the market. I can’t buy them all. Here is a shot with the Z7 and the Z 50mm f/1.8 lens with the Fotodiox 15mm extension. It allows me to get just that much closer with not too much loss of IQ. I see a rich photographic future for those interested. Be careful what you ask for! LOL.

Adding to the Fotodiox 15mm, the Nikkor “O” CRT lens with its own extra M-39 extensions, I begin to get the kind of dreamy sharpness that I tend to like.

Michael, I prefer the warmth and the roundness of the rendition of Z 50/1.8 with the extension ring to the pin-sharp rendition of CV125/2.5 and the others.

The CRT-Nikkor proved that it is and will be going strong on any camera!

Yes, the CRT Nikkor is the gift that keeps on giving, provided you have a use for it. This is the CRT with 15mm of extension and then one or two additional extensions as part of a M-39 extension. I can't say I have got it dialed in but i can see it is worth doing just that.

Looking good. Pics of the set up would be interesting too.

Will try to do that but, it is simply the 15mm extension, and then a M-39 to Z7 adapter...and two short extensions. The more I use the Z7, the more I like it, warts and all. It is convenient. I don't even know what the warts are, but some folks say it is not as good as the D850,, etc. I guess I don't notice the difference so far.

Beautiful color-shape-depth composition.
