Gospel for Noct Nikkor

In Paris, Gare de l'Est (East train station), Nov. 9. There was a group of guys and gals engaging in gospel songs ; they might be active at St Paul's lutheran church nearby. Anyway, nice performance. The light did not reflect the warm feeling.
Shot with the Noct on Df. First one at f/2.8, others at f/1.4. No doubt the best classic Nikkor at 1.4...

True indeed, and how refreshing indeed.  I thought I was going to get a load of technical bumf if I opened the thread, and how surprised I was when I opened it! A lovely photo essay which also sings the praises of a legendary lens and unique camera body.  Thank you.

Happy that you liked it. I had a great time there, on my way to my mum's empty house, that was much needed.

While the Noct is surprizingly sharp, the bokeh still leaves to be desired (esp. on bright spots). Best legacy Nikkor 50+, but the Zeiss 50/2 trounces it from that point of view. I guess the 50/1.8G, Akira's pet lens, has better bokeh too.

My love story with the Noct is also about the focal length, no doubt.

Yes, these are nice images, with high center frame resolution. I just wonder if the last image (top sequential position) of one of the singers is good material for a crop, closing in on the expressiveness of the face and hands.

Indeed. It is already cropped, but not enough. A square crops would work well.

Indeed, I haven't had any complaint about the bokeh quality of 50/1.8G.  Also, I feel that it shows lower LoCA than 50/1.4G or the neo noct 58/1.4G.  In addition, the 50/1.8G is amazingly flare- and ghost-resistant (even more than 45/2.8P with fewer elements and surfaces).
