The landscape and topography are familiar, as I've been to Lofoten many times. Yet exciting to see these features in a bird's view. Even the most familiar becomes a new entity.

Am surprised your drone isn't swept away by the strong winds so often encountered here ...

Most impressive - thanks for sharing these images and those images in your other drone threads.

Have these been taken with one of DJI's drone cameras or can your drone carry conventional camera gear from a maker such as Nikon, Canon, Sony etc ?

As far as I know the sensor is from the Sony X100, but the camera is DJI's.

Thanks posting, Knut. Really nice with snow on the landscapes; plus for reflections in the sea for the last one. I just spotted these after being occupied otherwise for a few days - looking forward to the the next volumes already available.

More excellent stuff.
I notice that you fly very high.
Unless I started from a very high place, I would not be in a very safe legal position doing so in the UK.

I would also be quite afraid of the stronger winds and the cold temperature, which all contribute to shorter battery life.
You are a fearless operator.

Thanks for this.  DJI are now the owner of Hasselblad, so they should have the IP needed to build good cameras.

Thanks for this.  DJI are now the owner of Hasselblad, so they should have the IP needed to build good cameras.

The blurb for the Mavic 2 Pro, which sports a "Hasselblad" camera, mentions using Hasselblad know-how in colour technology to fine tune the sensor.
I suspect the sensor is still made by Sony, but probably with extra Hasselblad technology (don't quote me on that though).
It certainly does produce splendid jpeg's though.
As for the Phantom 4 Advanced/Pro/whatever, I don't know whether these models predate the acquisition of Hasselblad, so not completely sure whether the above applies to this product family too.

Hello Simone, welcome to the Drone pilot club :-)
The Mavic 2 and Phantom 4 Pro/Advanced use essentially the same Sony sensor. When DJI released Mavic 2, they started using the Hasselblad name as a marketing blurb. The camera, sensor or lens has nothing to do with Hasselblad.
Image quality from both these drones are impressive, as proven by you and Knut. But for still photos there is a general agreement by most drone photographers that the Phantom generally has a slightly higher image quality, especially sharpness. There may be individual differences though, depending on the quality control at DJI's factory.
Note that I am talking about RAW photos, not JPG. The RAW-files from these flying cameras are really impressive.
Have fun flying!
