old poorly executed HDR data converted to something salvageable.

Took this in 6/2017. I initially thought it was shitty. Just a quick bracketed shot while walking through the Redwood State park. I didn't even use a tripod. I did a quick edit then and it was totally crappy.  Was looking at old photos last weekend and this one peaked my interest. Now that I know LR automation for HDr is not the answer, and a little practice with luminosity masking and this is the result.

Nice shot.  Agree that the tonalities are more realistic in the new one.  I actually prefer the color scheme (preserving some of the blueness in the shadows) of the first version.  Second version also seems to be showing a bit of mask artifacts along the large green leaves at the upper left.
