Some impressions of Nikon Prototype Exhibition
« on: October 09, 2018, 12:36:12 »
I also visited the exhibition of Nikkor protptypes at Nikon Museum in Shinagawa, Tokyo.

As Akiyama-san and Rick posted well-covered reports, I would limit myself posting some impressions.  :)

#1: Ingot we trust.
#2: Closeup of the coupling mechanism of the extension tube for 55/4.0 Micro.
#3: Pronounced aspherical surface of the front element of Fisheye 10mm/f2.8 OP.
#4: My love for standard lenses: Nikkor-S Auto 60mm/f1.2.
#5: My love for standard lenses: Nikkonr-Q Auto 5cm F2.5.
#6: Another angle of Nikkor-Q Auto 5cm/f2.5.

Odds but not ends...

#7: Detail of the rare yellow lens rear cap.
#8: From the permanent exhibition.  ArF scanner projection lens.  Not really an optical gem, but an optical wonder.
#9: Also from the permanent exhibition.  200mm and 300mm wafers, bases of FX and DX sensors respectively.

Hi Akira-san,
I was impressed with your very good report.
The serial number was No. 170001! I overlooked it.
I want yellow, blue and green lens rear caps.
Do you also?

As I understand it, there are images taken with a Z7 through many of these prototype lenses. Can anyone give their impressions of what sort of images the prototypes take?

It seems that everyone who visits this exhibit finds different interesting things to share. Thanks!

Rick, that is not displayed at the exhibition, right?  Am interested, of course!

Akiyama-san, thank you for your kind comment.  I would have liked to use that standard lens of seemingly Tessar design.

As for the caps, I would like them with the body caps with the same colors!  :D

Jack, photographing the sample images are not allowed.  A professional photographer shot some images with the 105/2.8 soft focus, 35/2.0 GN, 58/1.2, 400/8.0 reflex, 10/2.8 OP fisheye, 1000/11 IF reflex, 85-200/4.5 zoom, and 35-400/3.5 zoom, if I remember correctly.

Except for the images shot with the long zooms, they look very sharp even on the 47MP Z7.

It seems that everyone who visits this exhibit finds different interesting things to share. Thanks!

Keith, yes, indeed.  My interest is quite niche in general.   8)
