Zeis Ikon G-1 to Nikon Df
« on: October 08, 2018, 17:23:30 »
I have a low milage G-1 gathering dust somewhere in the house, and am wondering, before I put it up for auction, if it is possible to use this lens with my Df as an AF lens, what adaptors are available, and how others have used this excellent lens with their Df.  Any G-1/Nikon comments are welcome.

As the G-1 is a rangefinder camera, its register distance likely is much shorter than that of Nikon DSLRs. Thus the lens will be very "near-sighted" on a Df, if there is any focus possible at all.

You mean Contax G1?  If so, the lens is not useable on Df with any adapter for the reason mentioned by Birna.

Yes, it is a  Zeiss Contax G 1, and thank you for your advice.  I once read on an auction site that the seller of a Contax/Fuji XE-1 had success with this lens, true or false, I know not, and wondered if Contax to Nikon Df were possible.
