Sorry, could not resist, even though it's not the most interesting Nikon shop:

In German, that's called an Ohrwurm (earworm)...

i am more into Yodobashi! :o :o :o

but Fujiya is still my favorite (big) shop ::)

Alps-Do is the best tiny shop in my opinion

Agree, except for the abysmal BGM torture in Yodobashi (just like any other retailers).

on a serious note. I find that Yodobashi's are usually more professional although I can name you 1 rude staff. ::)

the Bic staff at Bicqlo camera shops are usually OK.  :o :o :o

most of the staff in Shinjuku know me. they have been seeing me for years. they even saw how my child grew from a small baby to a toddler.

i usually end up having a friendly relationship with the shop staffs. i get discounts and other stuff without even asking for them!

i got this yesterday from Alps-do. the owner ran to me and gave this to me for a very good price! he knew that I have been wanting to buy one for years.
its a price you only give to friends and i cannot say it here.

the people at Sankyo are also great.

Enjoy your FA!

The "special discount for friend" is fairly common in Japan.  I have such relationship wiith some musical instrument shops that I visit much more often than the camera shops.

I got a small discount (~10%) at the filter section at Bic in Shinjuku! Not friends with anyone!
I bought a nice silk cord Artist and Artisan there also so maybe that was why?
