I really enjoy hearing these stories which reveal the thinking behind the designs.

One thing mentioned frequently in the article was the Olympics. With 2020 Olympics in Japan, I wonder what sort of lens/camera line-up they will be preparing.

A most valid question. Nikon announced the 500 f4E and 600 f4E on 2nd July 2015, not long after the D500 and D5: well over a year before Rio :-)

Superb as the current versions stand, one often reads on the www that the 200 f2G and 300 f2.8G are overdue to be upgraded to E - FL versions in line with the longer exotic telephotos. So, we probably have to wait for another year....
