« on: June 23, 2018, 22:45:32 »
Hi all does anybody know where I can get the metering fork (I think that's what it's called) for a nikkor 135mm f2.8 from please as the lens I have has had it removed. Any help much appreciated.regards Steve.

Sell your lens and buy one with the prong still attached. Those lenses are pretty cheap so if you are lucky you can find a different one with prong for the same price you sell yours for.

You do realize that no Nikon camera made in the past 40 years requires that prong right?

Another option is buy a junk lens and remove the prong from it.

Finally, contact a company which sells used equipment (KEH for example) and see if they sell meter coupling prongs.

Until a couple years back, I thought that all Nikkor lenses were equipped with these "prongs", but at that time I bought from eBay a 50m f1.8 so-called "pancake" lens, and discovered when I unpacked it, that not only did it come with no "prongs" but that it had no threaded mounting holes or any evidence of ever having any.  It made me realize just how out of date I was!  It took a while for me to accept that any lenses manufactured for any Nikon bodies after the F2AS didn't need prongs, and so Nikon must have omitted them. I do know that this lens is very similar to the E  series lens, and I also assume the  E series lenses and cameras didn't use this old F series technology.

Grays of Westminster have new prongs and screws for sale. £15 for a prong with two screws according to their website.

well, just pay for the shipping.  :o :o :o

unfortunately shipping from Japan would be expensive so I guess grey's prongs might be cheaper assuming you are from the UK

In a previous forum, same question I mailed a prong "free of any charge." Then the person kept emailing me (over & over) that he broke it and needed another.

(I will never do that again.)

or use it for his own. either way, that's a very selfish thing to ask and an abuse of a person's goodwill and time. :o :o :o

i used to accommodate these parts request but not so much lately (apart from this one) unless it's Roland or some other friends that I personally know or people of good-standing ::) you know that these people can be trusted and decent.
