Act of jealousy
« on: June 03, 2018, 03:11:44 »
I have seen wonderful reds in recent IR shots from Birna and Paco. This triggered my envy to shoot IR again, so I went to Singapore Botanic Gardens yesterday and got this...
Maybe I overreacted a bit!

I like it. It looks like a lake with a lot of wetness loving grasses

Welcome back to IR, Olivier!  In this case, your reaction seems to be very appropriate!

Thanks everyone! It felt good to find some motivation in the work of the masters.

Frank: These are very tall orchids, probably 3m high. There is no water involved in this shot but IR combined with PS torturing may explain this impression. I hope you feel better already.

Here is another color shot of a huge leave (probably 5-6 meters wide). I don't know the plant but each of its leaves can offer shelter to many people when the heavy Singaporean rain attacks.
The following picture (IR B&W) shows a similar leave from behind.

All taken with my V1 IR and 10-30 kit lens.

Olivier, thank you for the description of the shooting environment.  The peculiar shapes of these exotic tropical plants seem to be effective to enhance the other-worldly IR images.

Your jealousy is definitely a very positive one!

1. I love Botanical Gardens, tend to visit every incarnation wherever I may roam.

2. You got some phantastic eye to see stuff others do not see. Many of your pictures are burnt into my memory and some of them I save to disk to show other people how real talent looks like. #5: two phantastic visionary shots again!

3. no I am not better and still lack a diagnosis. Last night was bad, but symptoms are a-changing like the color of a chameleon changes with its mood.

Reading the title of the post, I did not suspect *that*.
Great images in their strangeness, to which IR contributes usefully.
