Hello from Umhlanga Rocks
« on: April 21, 2018, 13:56:40 »
Hi everyone!

My name is Tim Hodgkinson and I am from the seaside town of Umhlanga Rocks, near Durban, in South Africa.

I got my first camera, a D90, in 2008 and have been learning ever since. I have tried all kinds of photography, but my main interest at the moment is close-up and macro. About two years ago I upgraded to a D800E.

I also enjoy going to the beachfront near where I live to take photos of the people and the sunrise.

Here are two photos that I took this morning with the old D90 and 18-105 kit lens. The first one shows the Umhlanga Rocks beachfront and the second photo is of the pier at sunrise.

Welcome! That pier looks rather like the bones of a whale. Perhaps that was the idea.

Thanks Jack. Yes, it is meant to represent whale bones. Here is a view from the top.
