Coccothraustes coccothraustes
« on: April 13, 2018, 18:24:21 »
today I took some shots of this bird, a Coccothraustes coccothraustes (in German: "Kernbeißer") in a forest nearby. I was just fascinated by it.

A teleconverter would have been handy.

Wikipedia says it is the largest Finch in Europe.

300pf on D850, could have used the D500 but for results the 1.7xIII would have been more helpful

Nice catch, Frank. They are usually quite shy. I personally could not get a good picture of the one visiting the garden this winter ...
