The skating lesson
« on: February 26, 2018, 05:52:55 »
Our youngest grand-child five-year old Evan recently decided he wanted to play hockey and so was signed up for skating lessons by our Daughter. Being retired, my Wife and I take him to his weekly lesson and I bring along a camera so his family can see his progress from week to week.
Last Friday at one point Evan and his instructor were standing along the boards on the other side of the rink engaged in conversation, and as I watched them through the viewfinder, the scene reminded me of a Norman Rockwell painting, and I grabbed this shot.

I shoot with film. That's film. F...i...l...m. You remember film. It was in all the papers.

Robert - what a fun shot and a great capture.  The short and the tall.  Nice to see kids that can stand up straight and the concentration being shown by your grandson.  (Hope he has a good mouth guard - else his dentist is going to get far far too rich.  ;D)

Hugh, Anthony MFloyd,
Thanks for commenting.
Hugh,
Chin guard in helmet, but mouth guard not yet necessary. He's only had five lessons and at this point they're not using proper rubber pucks, but only sponge-rubber ones so there is virtually no chance that anyone will be hurt by them.
MFloyd,
The exposure was greater as shot, but reduced a bit in post-processing to get some separation between the instructor's dark brown clothing and the sign behind him.
