The cloud that followed me
« on: February 07, 2018, 16:42:03 »
Out early, before sunrise, a cigar-shaped cloud was catching the dawn colours and kept pace with me as I walked the shoreline of Loch Tay.

All images shot at or from the head of Loch Tay, using my D600 and 18-35 and 70-200/4. I am finding that in most "normal" lighting situations, files from the 600 need almost no PP except sharpening - occasionally a slight tweak of colour or contrast but almost never more than that. Does this fit with other D600-owners' experience?

6.  Crow dawn
7.  Geese below Beinn Ghlas
8.  Moon over Glen Dochart
9.  Sron a' Chlachain
10. Frosted oak leaves

Beautiful lighting.  I particularly like #4.  The radial clouds give some movement to the image.

The sunlit part of the mountain in the later part of the series echoes the cloud following you nicely, which make the series coherent.

Thank you Bent, Armando, Akira and elsid for the kind comments.

As I said last week - it is a relief to me that members don't get bored too quickly with Scottish scenery.

No worries, Dave!  The Scottish scenery is too multifaceted to get bored.

Well, that is exactly how I feel, but I am Scottish and have a built-in love of my native landscape. There is no guarantee that others will feel the same.   :)

Thank you, Mongo, and nice to hear from you.

Nice work David - I appreciate seeing it.

David, there are quite a few of us with Scottish ancestry.  And I suspect you can count the Scandinavians in as honorary Scots as well (or are the Scots honorary Scandavians given the amount of Viking DNA in the Scots  ;D).  And after a few single malts, all of the others feel like Scots as well ............  ;D

I almost missed these. Lovely series, compiled in a short timeframe - you were up early, Dave!

I particularly like the crow sentinel.

Hugh - you are right, of course - I had over looked that.   8)

Thanks, Mike. Up early, couldn't sleep, dawn sky looked promising, jumped in the old banger and drove to the head of the loch; story of my life, really.   :)
