D750 recall Norway
« on: January 15, 2018, 12:22:07 »
I was on vacation in 2016. Bought an Nikon D750 in Seoul

Now. two years later. I checked the serial. And its affected. It should be fixed.

A: Do I need to fix this. what benefit would it be for my daily snapshots ?

B: If  I decide to do it. my camera will have to be sent to Oslo. Thats kind of OK.
But will I get a lot of hazle with that company being a camera that I have bought in Far east??

C: I reckon it wont be cheap anyway. Anyone knows the cost?

My D750 was affected, and Nikon Japan replaced the shutter unit for free even though the warranty of my camera was expired.  I'm not sure if Nikon Norway would fix the camera bought outside Norway or Europe, though.  But it they would, they would clean the sensor as part or the repair.

Same story as Akira for me but in Belgium.
I did not see any impact on images but doing the change got me a shutter count back to zero (the shutter count in exif was not reset) and a free sensor cleaning. They also did the firmware upgrade.

My camera was not affected

After a long search and a triple check the serial on my camera is not in any recall list

No chance of free shutter and sensor clean then....
