Spend one day in the area of Venice...

(1) Lido de Jesolo - looking towards the lighthouse
(2) laguna between Venice and Jesolo

Lovely, atmospheric photos, but there seem to be halos around the boat driver and the lighthouse, and around some other structures.

I am also curious as to the processing technique.

Hi Antony, Jakov and Fons thanks for your visit.  Yes, I applied to both pictures what they call the Orton Effect.  There are many ways to proceed (in Ps); one of these is to duplicate the original image and to apply to the upper layer a (more or less) Gaussian blur; then, there are different ways to combine he two layers (here I used « embed »). I'm rarely using such PP techniques, but I found that it worked quite well on these, as it corresponds somewhat to my eye twilight vision.

Thank you for sharing the know how and link. I found it a very interesting read and something that I might try in the future. Although my images are already blurry :)

Thank you Jakov  :)

A last drink on the nearly abandoned Lido of Jesolo, just before catching my plane, back home:

a good set, 1 and 3 are my favs, i think 2 would work without boat, as the dreamy scene is acceptable unsharp, but the eye tries to get the boat sharp
the last one is Edward Hopper style  - great
