Chasing the rainbow
« on: November 01, 2017, 23:33:31 »
We have had a couple of stormy days and rainbows appeared quite regularly. These were shot from our garden.

Beautiful closeups of the rainbow.  I tend to want to capture the rainbow in the widest possible view angle, but these gives me great inspiration to think differently.  Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, Aira and Kuri, for the kind comments.

Today I came across an indoor rainbow - really a spectrum, of course - a flaw in a window-glass acting as a prism

Thank you, Mongo and Paco - your comments are greatly appreciated.

One thing which interests me is the kind of lumpy, uneven shape of the rainbow in #2- it seemed to be getting interference from shafts of sunlight coming thro the clouds above.

I agree with with Mongo is magical with the highlights of the landscape on the left.
And, I also agree with David, the linear rainbow of the second image is also magical.

All three are stunningly beautiful, but Nr1 does take the laurels.
