Autumn - here she come

A day out, mostly in the autumn woodlands round here, which are at their peak.

All good, but the third especially is a marvel. Inis Bhuidhe I reckon...
Are you recovered and are your November travel plans unchanged?

I'm glad you like these, Simone, but it's not Innis Bhuidhe (I was mostly over in Glen Lyon), and I'm not recovered, and can only function at all by taking large doses of three separate painkillers. But thanks for asking.

The trip to Japan goes ahead (we leave on 4 Nov), and I'm not sure how wise this is but I'm going anyway.

All very good but 4, 6 and 7 resonate deeper for me. What a beautiful place.

  Thanks for sharing!

My favorite would be #2 for the atmosphere and #3 as a color composition.

Did you have any health problem?  Hope you get well soon.

David - the line in my head was "August, come she must".

Thank you, John - I see you are a member of a rapidly vanishing species, the photojournalist, as publishers turn more and more to crowd-sourcing and everyone has an iphone. But in a way the writing was on the wall even when I was part-photojornalist, part commercial photog, 30 years ago. I remember the picture editor of the Observer Magazine saying "You can't expect to make a living doing this", when I complained about how badly they were paying me for some job. So people like me and you subsidised the publishers by doing other kinds of work. For most people then, photojournalism was not a viable way of earning a living.
