Stuck meter coupling lever
« on: September 16, 2017, 00:15:00 »
The meter coupling lever is stuck on my D300s.

I don't use any manual lenses on this camera (D4s does that job), so I'm wondering if this is something I have to repair due to other functions?

If so; any idea how much such a "fix" will cost?

Don't know how this happened, suggestions on common causes?

Thank you, Erik  :)

Regarding functions; only relevant when using manual lenses?

Do not set any manual lens on the camera, as well as some old-fashioned AF ones, were part of the info goes thru this lever. In this case, by turning aperture ring, this stuck long inner spring could be broke apart, and make a real mess inside. If the lever stuck in any between position, it may, in some cases, with some, mostly third-party lenses,  affect the metering. Bring it to service ASAP, ASAP I do mean!  Good luck!  LZ

Thank you :-)

I'll send it in, won't take any chances.
