lost site credentials
« on: August 29, 2017, 17:14:32 »
Sorry, but in trying synchronise the ID I use on my laptop with the one I use on my desktop, I've done something wrong - probably several things - and in effect cannot now change/correct the credentials on either machine. Also, if I log out at all, I don't think I will be able to get back in. Oops!

One thing which seemed to go wrong was my "secret question" - the definitely correct answer was not recognised.

Help!!!

David

Dave, sorry about that.  I'm frustrated because I don't know what to do to help you.  All I can do is to wish some experts would provide you with a solid solution!

If you are on a Mac, the info that you need is probably stored in "Keychain Access"
(or its equivalent in Windows — but I don't know my way around that system).

I am not an IT guy, so what I would do is stop doing anything and go find an IT guy to fix it. I certainly wouldn't turn anything off. I hope you are able to recover, you have a very nice website. Others with more knowledge would probably proceed differently.

David: I can read your profile information and hence also alter the details, except for the answer to your secret question (of course). Just send me a PM or e-mail with the details you want to keep (or change).
