Men in skirts
« on: August 02, 2017, 21:07:02 »
The annual Killin Highland Games usually provides a few photographic opportunities a bit different from my usual diet of landscapes and I enjoy the new challenges.

1) Men in Skirts
2) Girls in skirts
3) Piper - keep your eyes closed, please!
4) Captive Eagle Owl
5) Smoking haddock
6) Girls can play too.
7) Prize time.
8. Was that a drop of rain?
9) Throwing the 16lb hammer
10) Rain is traditional on these occasions . . .

Very cool series Dave. I like how everything is not covered within the frame but still the entire message is conveyed. Very refreshing.

Enjoyable variety.  Thanks for posting, Dave.  So, the owl seems to be entitled to keep his eyes open.  :D

Great series David.  Hard to pick a favourite, but the owl and the 'addocks have caught my eye.

You must be a very brave fellow indeed to live in the Highlands of Scotland (McNab country no less) and to refer to the kilt wearing bare bummed savages up there as "men in skirts" - nevertheless it has been a really great pleasure to have gotten to know you just a little through these threads!  Mate, we are certainly going to miss you!   ;D  ;D  ;D

Thank you Armando, Carl, Anirban, Akira and Hugh.

So, the owl seems to be entitled to keep his eyes open.  :D

But the dang bird would never look straight at me and give me the benefit of both those wonderful eyes.

Hugh - nice of you to say, but I'm not planning to disappear any time soon.   ;D

WW I Germans call them, "The ladies from hell."

Mini kilts certainly are a long running fashion. Great series!

Such an interesting series. Well shown.
I would love to see an event like this. Next time we have a Scotland meet-up perhaps?

Nitpickers ;-)

Well, here you go then, with sporran and all:

I was tempted to drag out that famous press photo of Charles and Camilla in the first place, so here we have that one as well:

Dave, I always enjoy your taste in composition, processing and color.  Remember when color control like this cost thousands and you had to wait 20 minutes just to see your first test print?
