Only a few hours old, and on the bus - Common loon chick and parent

This chick was just a few hours old when this was taken.  They hadn't hatched when I arrived at  noon, but were on the water 3 hours later!

So tiny at this stage.

D500  500mm AFS  f/5.0  ISO 640 1/1250s

Taken from my kayak.

Advice and comments always appreciated.
