Thanks, Akira. We are having fun. Feel free to join the race from Tokyo (or anyone anywhere). The themes are published. We are now at the beach waiting for fireworks. A lot of processing yet to occur. Will we manage by noon tomorrow local time :)

Akira, missed the fireworks :D
Tonight in Scheveningen, China and France had the honors to light the sky.
I didn't shoot the Chinese due to unforeseen circumstances but I caught the French at display :)

Nice selection, Jakov!

Our annual firework festival will be held the day after tomorrow.  The weather forecast says that it will be cloudy and occasionally rain.  Hope it will turn out to be wrong!

Anthony, thank you for joining us. It was a real pleasure to see you again. You are a true gentleman as I have been repeating all this time.

Here is a blurry one of the binnenhof in The Hague.

I had a great time in the Hague with Jacov, Nicole, Peter and Aleksandra.  I am sorry I cannot make the 30 September event, but I strongly recommend it to anyone who is able to attend.

A target rich location, and wonderful NG people, what more can one request?

Thank you, Erik! We are all spectacular aren't we :)

The first NG photo race has concluded. I appeal to all NG folks to vote for the 4 themes!

I love your first Fireworks shot, Jakov. Especially since the wheel was turning very slowly so I assume the shutter speed was longer than the 10-15 seconds you mentioned. The colors of the wheel, the pillars and the tones of the building look great. Did you use a grey filter? At f11, ISO100, I measured a shutter speed of 3sec. max to keep the evening/night look of the skies. Or did you use another trick?

BTW: it was great to meet Anthony. As you said: a gentleman and a wonderful companion. We had a spectacular day.

Thank you, Peter!
I used D750 and 85/1.4.
In the beginning it was ISO 100; f/11; 20sec.
Then I started speeding it up because I felt that I was blowing out the wheel too much.
So I ended up at ISO 100; f/5.6; 2 secs.
I don't remember exactly what the settings were of the first image that you like so much, but I will let you know as soon as I reach the EXIF data ;)

Thank you. I recognize the shorter shutter speed versions from my photos of the French fireworks.

Since you did not see the Chinese fireworks, here is one shot at 1s and f5.6 with D750 and 58mm. I only discovered the barrel in the front towards the end of the Chinese fireworks. ;-)

and one 2s f8 shot of the French fireworks:

I must admit that the wheel in your long exposurephoto brings something extra compared to the shorter exposure photos.

Seek and find the NPR12082017 participant:

I also did find out that Jakov has a smooth way of taking stealth photos:

And what's a Nikongear event without a gear shot?
