I can see why Armando. First one shows her like she (wants to) see(s) herself. Cool, "not caring", etc. Second one shows her as thoughtful, pensive, etc.

Great work, i like both of them!

very interesting subject with a specific brief to fill - challenging work Armando.
Mongo likes them both but likes #2 far more. it is an excellent portrait which causes you to study who she might be. It has a photographer's perspective.
Mongo can understand her liking #1 - perhaps this is how she sees herself and is more like a potential album cover
Nice work.

JMO. but I don't like the red around the eyes look. She will no doubt  lose little sleep over my  opinion. That's the way the World turns.  ;)

Thank you for the comments

Carl, you are not alone, I'm not a fan, she did it herself, for a fantasy makeup I recommended her who to call, and hopefully she will call me for the photos

Armando,
I very much like the first shot although the red eye make-up makes the subject look like she has either been crying, or has a serious eye infection.
I'd suggest converting the shot to black and white to "save' what is otherwise a lovely portrait.

Armando, interesting differences.  I prefer the 2nd image and its' mood/tones/pose.   I do hope she takes your advice and does return for more photographs.  Both very well shot  :)

Very nice portrait work, Armando.

I guess she wanted to try an idea incorporating some tradition of "prehispanico".  I think it works.

Thanks for the comments, really appreciate you taking the time to write something

Akira,
You are spot on, she is singing in a group that mixes Mexican music with Jazz ... and she is trying to change her image to communicate the old prehispanic roots, so it should be working since you see it that way  :) I still feel the makeup is not strong enough to survive in a stage lightning

Here is her boyfriend who plays the trumpet in the same group

Armando, so long as she stays lit by the white spotlight on the stage, this make up could survive.  But if the band requires lighting of various color, she may need to look for the more effective color.

I'm curious about the band.  What is its name?

Akira,
The band is called Toktli
I was able to find a couple of short videos in instagram
you can look for toktlimusica or the trumpet player as _fajardotrumpet

(PS: she initially contacted me via instagram and it was struggle for me, she finally agreed to use whatsapp, much easier)
