Hi from the Netherlands
« on: May 17, 2017, 18:57:18 »
Hi,
Let me introduce myself.
My name is Hans ans I live close to the oldest City of the Netherlands, Nijmegen.

My first Nikon I bought about 38 years ago, a Nikon F2A.
This was a huge investment in that time. I cost me more then two month saleries that time. Anyway it was worth all the money.
Then I figured out that instead of Nice girls in front of the camera they are much more fun next to you on the couch or even more comfortable places  ;)
So I decided to sell it and use the money for more boring but neccesary stuff for house keeping.

With my marriage my wife gave me a new camera, an Olympus OM-2 SP. very nice camera but drained lots of batteries. Then I went to digital, a c....n, but never got the touch this F2A gave me.
A few weeks ago I was looking on a marketplace and there it was, screaming to me, hello, here I am!
An almost mint Nikon F2AS. When I picked it up, it felt good again, everything in correct places and intuitive.
I didn't negotiate about the price as it was not high. Happy as a child I arrived home and now I'm shooting nikon again.
Next step now is to add some nice glass to it as only 50 mm is not enough. But about that I will open a new thread in the correct sub.
I'm sure I will gather lots of information over here and do my best to join discussions when possible.

Kind regards
Hans

Old or new hands in photography - here at NG they are all embraced equally :D

By the way, I had the Nikon F2 my firm favourite for many years until the age of digital dawned. I used all versions including the F2 Titan, a camera the robustness of which newer models unfortunately never matched.
