Unfriendly objects

Are sometimes lovely.
This is milk thistle (Silybum marianum) which used to be very common when I was small. I think the heavy rain this year has helped it tremendously.

Jack, I really like the detail on that second one. Background a bit busy.  What aperture , couldn't find exif.  I'm still looking for a 35mm for the Df to replace the 35 f2D.

Top one is f/2.0, bottom f/4.0

I have a shot of it at F/1.4 but it is a bit soft.

I really like the old Nikkor and recommend it highly. It is a bit heavy though.

Thanks Jack, yup, the weight is the downside  :( .  I have gotten really lazy with the Df.  I keep the 58 1.4G on it and normally only shift off for one of the 105's and some times the 75-150 3.5E.
