Hi,

It seems that the wonderful series of articles on the history of Nikkor lenses has been removed from the nikkor.com website. Does anyone here know if there is a plan to replace the original articles with a new set? It seems a bit odd that the content has been removed without any information.

Regards

I noticed the same. It all happened when Nikon adapted their web-pages to their 100th Anniversary.  Not sure if it was intentionally...

Everything is gone including the Eyes of Nikon series.

Looks intentional as the former links do not work either. I was wondering if the site is being reworked and the content will be launched again.

Is there any way to contact Nikon about this?

Yes, they (also from the Japanese site) were removed altogether.

In 2005, the "1001" articles were published as a book.  I suspect that the later articles will also be published as a book, and that's why the "free" articles were removed.

If this turns out to be true, a real shame and pity.

The optimist side of me might tell that Nikon website would be under thorough reconstruction to celebrate the 100th anniversary, and thus 1001 might be temporarily removed.   ::) ::) ::)

Some of it can be found on archive.org

http://web.archive.org/web/20110206021151/http://imaging.nikon.com:80/products/imaging/technology/nikkor/index.htm

If anyone has time and inclination it would be an afternoon of work to capture them all in the event that they never come back.

Well ... I enjoyed reading the story of the MF lenses I purchased recently, and it was trilling to read it on the Nikon site rather than some other source

Really hope they do come back
