Hello from Oman (Muscat).
« on: March 31, 2017, 06:42:41 »
Hello from Muscat Oman, for the next few months anyway: soon be returning to the UK after working abroad for about 35 years.

Been a Nikon user for many years & have more cameras than is probably sensible (is that possible?) but the Nikon Df has shown me that digital can be as much fun as using my F2sb or F4.
I visited this site from time to time because it seemed the only one that was not full of unconstructive complaints about the Df from what seemed to be non-users.

I must  mention the vast and knowledgeable information that I found here about older Nikon lenses, it has helped me make one or two pleasing purchases: the Nikkor 25-50 f4 Ai zoom for instance.

Thanks for allowing me to participate.

Welcome indeed.

You'll find plenty of Df users here on NG. Not heard too many complaints from them :D

Not "fanboy(s)", but users. A big difference.

To wit, the Df has been my work horse camera since late 2013. I have gained a lot of experience with the camera, including the weak sides of its construction, of which there are several. There is a reason I'm looking forward to a Df2.

Thanks & yes Oman is somewhere special: not many places where it's possible to camp out alone at either 10,000ft or in the desert with a fire and a couple of Guinness, with the only interruption being a few goats  8)
