I like them both, and find the blue and pinks very complimentary in the first image.

In my neighborhood (San Francisco Bay Area) the plums bloom in the first week of February. Cherry trees blossom over a month later. Sadly I spent the weekend with a chainsaw taking down the flowering plum in my back yard as it died over winter due to root damage from some construction my neighbors did. It had been stressed by several years of drought as well.

Randy, thanks for your comments.  Yes, I live in coastal northern California where the plums bloom in late February and frost is rare this time of the year.  Yet 250 km to the east the snow lies 3 to 6 meters deep on the ground up in the high mountains.
