The Fujinon 50/2 WR
« on: February 25, 2017, 10:21:53 »
Landed in my bag yesterday.
...but more testing needed before I firmly conclude.

First, the lens is sharp with very little deteriation towards the corners.

The close focus spherical abberation (soft veiling) character found with the 23/2 and 35/2 is not present. My sample is very clear and sharp at minimum focus distance.

For an f/2 lens on APS-C the bokeh is actually looking buttery smooth. Still more testing with various scenes needed before hard conclusions can be drawn though.

What I don't like is an audible focus drive...my 23/2 is silent in comparison. It might be just my copy, will try out another sample next week.

Will post sample photos later.

First test: Field of curvature, here at ca. 5m. Pretty flat, and sharpness, or should I say lack of spherical problems impressive all the way to the edge.
