Nice. Refreshing perspective on tulip.

The left leaf however disturbs me a bit, perhaps because of the saturation of the whole. Maybe you could desaturate it just a bit, just so it doesn't steal attention from the rest of the picture. IMHO of course.

Mongo loves the idea of this image. It is (as has been said) refreshingly different in its perspective and Mongo also thinks, deliberately rich and indulgent - like eating velvet ice cream. So, Mongo indeed likes the saturation and the “in your face” (but refined) detail. The image is captivating and a delight to see something so interestingly different.

Have to say, however, the crop is such that it takes a little away from this otherwise wonderful image. For example, the green triangle on bottom right and the slightly shortened hight of the image. Mongo thinks the image was shorted because the light at the top was probably becoming too strong to go with the deep, rich theme of this image. Perhaps if re-shot in circumstances where the top light was subdued, the crop could allow for a little extra length. In saying this, Mongo is not suggesting the crop go to the top of the flower - just am amount higher than it is at present should do.

Just Mongo’s 2 cent’s worth but quite like this work.

Actually I prefer the green leaf butting into the frame and creating the otherwise lacking disorder to bring the composition to life.

Very much appreciate the comments, the Zeiss lenses like the 100mm f2 is even after desaturation remain very rich in colours, personally about composition and such i have become quite independent, realizing there is no perfect image always room for new opportunities.

Good point Bjørn (of course). However, in my mind that was the leave peeping in on the right hand bottom side.

Still a nice image though.

Thank you Hans, tulips are easy to photograph, and readily available this time of the year.

Fons:

My favorite is the first image, I like the green leaf framing on the left, as it is somewhat subdued luminosity wise, but would tone down the leading/bright edge of the triangle leaf on lower right.

Nice concept.  But I still like the first one.  The initial inspiration is precious.

There is so much to see in #13, the beauty of decay...
Wonder what this does?
