An easy way to adapt the Heligon 42/0.75
« on: January 22, 2017, 21:28:13 »
Or at least some of them, I’m not sure they are all built the same.

When my Heligon 42/0.75 arrived, a few years ago, it looked like in the first picture below. On this build, the optic block is in one piece, screwed in on an internal 48mm thread with a photograph friendly 0.75 pitch . Adapting it was easy: unscrew the optic block, screw together a K2 and a 48-52mm step ring, screw it on the internal thread, that’s it. For other mounts, there's plenty of 52MM reversing ring to use instead of the K2.

The 1 V1 is great with these shorter focal length Heligons.

Very informative, Bruno.  I saw both configurations (photo#1 and photo #2) for sale and was wondering if these were different versions or merely altered in some way.

Interesting information about thread size, thanks.

This one is very photograph friendly, indeed. I've edited the text to indicate the 0.75 thread pitch

The 1 V1 is great with these shorter focal length Heligons.

It works very well with the Sony Nex too but the 1 V1 is so easier to use. I've modified the text to add these other mounts.
