This thread has been a great tour of many interesting minds.  My contribution is a now-hackneyed subject, but given a lurid-but-fading 1950's Technicolor treatment.   Bonus for seeing the "face" just above center.  55 Micro/3.5 @ 3.5
EDIT:  Oops, I forgot to downsize the pixel dimensions.  It survives the file size compression, probably because it has so little fine detail.

Keith, this is fantastic!  Double exposure of focused and out-focused image?

Hello, everyone! Greetings from Arizona. This is my first post, I think.

This picture was completely unexpected. It is a backlit cholla cactus shot with a Skink Classic Pinhole on my D800 (clearly resolution overkill). The sun is a little above the frame, and I suspect the colored streaks are from sunlight diffracting through the pinhole.

I kind of like the picture but can't imagine a use for it (and my wife certainly wouldn't want it on the wall). But, it is definitely "abstract" so I thought it fit in here.

The Skink Classic Pinhole is nominally 45mm f/150. It is really nicely made (in Germany), but I haven't really gotten the pinhole knack. Has anyone else played with one or something like it?

And apparently it is also exceptionally good at revealing junk on your sensor.   ;D

In plus out of focus, doubled in the camera's processor using the 'Image Overlay' feature in the D800 Retouch menu.  I just discovered this feature:  It creates an new NEF file, and has a way to control the density of the two components and see a small preview before creating the merged shot.

Jaanco, you've created a hot, almost cheerful rainbow-ey shot of a Cholla.  Maybe something like the last thing one would see out in the desert backcountry just before passing out from heat exhaustion.

Thanks for the disclosure.  Apparently the function has been implemented in DSLRs for some time.  D750 has the function that merges up to three images automatically (even with the exposure adjustment).

Pluton, I should have used an even lower perspective to really pull that off. I will try again sometime!
The good thing about the pinhole is there is always room for it in the bag.
