IR conversion options
« on: January 05, 2017, 22:38:51 »
I just got back from Peru, where we spent some time in the Amazon basin trying to get birds, monkeys, sloths and whatnot, in the usual cloudy light.  After various frustrations with me trying (and failing) to get sharp shots from a D3200 at high ISO, and my wife trying to shoot sequences with the measly buffer on the D7100, she got a D7200, which leaves me in possession of a nice D7100, and a now extraneous d3200 which I'd like to convert to IR.  I'm wondering if in the last few months anyone has had experience with some of the newer conversions, such as IR+UV.  And I'm also wondering if anyone has sent a camera to anyone cheaper than Life Pixel.  I note that Isaac Szabo has a less expensive conversion, but he's kind of an unknown quantity.  Once upon a time I'd have done this myself, but as my eyesight gets worse and my fingers cramp up more, I am trying to be realistic, and expect to send it out.
