Kaapschehoop
« on: December 20, 2016, 08:29:24 »
Spent the weekend at a quaint little town called Kaapschehoop. It has its roots as a small mining village from the days when there was still a lot of gold mining in the area.

Now its surrounded by pine plantations from the Forestry companies, has wild horses roaming around and has become a tourist attraction.

I kept the Tokina 16-28 lens on the D800 and tried to keep to 16mm, but the odd 28mm frame popped up.

Wonderful super wide shots, Fanie!  You captured the beautiful moment of the horse.  Nice compositions of the telephone box and the flower looked up from below.  And happy portrait of your wife!

Thanks for sharing!

A nit-pick: you mean "Tokina" 16-28?

Fanie,

It's a nice group. I'm particularly intrigued with the "Pottery Chick" as I wonder what the guy in the door is seeing.

Thanks,

Dave Hartman

Very nice series Fanie!

I must admit quite a fondness for Kaapsehoop too, after spending a weekend there last year.

If I may:
