Hello from the Arizona desert

I have been thinking about joining this group, and finally made the decision to do it. The photography here is great, and the banter is friendly.

Welcome. You have a beautiful state. I've been to AZ a few times (Scottsdale on business, although I managed to get out to Sedona) and I envy your photographic opportunities.

Cheers,

Nick (from Detroit, MI)

It's nice here now, but it was completely unreasonable only a couple of months ago.  ;)

Welcome to our world.  I am looking forward to your desert pics as that is the only way I will ever see the desert.

Hello CS, great to have you on board.

Landscape is a lot where you are and I hear your desert is big enough to power the planet with 24/7 solar?
Will you document this development with your camera when it might come one day?

All the best

Frank
You are out there. You and your camera. You can shoot or not shoot as you please. Discover the world, Your world. Show it to us. Or we might never see it.

I suppose the desert might be large enough to accommodate a lot of solar panels, but I'm afraid that it would be at the expense of blotting out the beauty of much of our landscape. In any event, at my age, I'm not likely to be around to see things on that scale.

Hi CS, welcome. Looking forward to a few John Ford Style Panoramas.

Sorry to disappoint, those scenes are more likely up in Northern Arizona/Southern Utah, the Monument Valley area. I'm in the central Arizona Sonoran desert area.

Welcome, CS.  John Ford panoramas can be created anywhere....I think he shot one or two pictures 'down south'.  I know...I try it all the time!

Welcome, CS. Great to have someone from my favorite state.

Thanks, Peter. I'm just recovering from a surgery, so my responses have not been timely. "Favorite state" eh, are you by chance a native of Arizona?
