No need to apologize. I just reminded everyone about the original setting which is I guess 70 REC-editions gone. Rules can change over time...

The REC always was a challenge to edit someone elses work. I still like the idea!

There must be a million ways to edit this image. Is this one of them?

I'd think: Yes.

Thomas,

Thank you, I'm never quite secure about how things will look to others.

Any more takers boys and girls?  This one went quick  - do we leave it for a while or do we wrap up before I forget what I was thinking?

Wrap it up. I feel less than two weeks rotation gets the fluids running...

14 participants  - I am thrilled!  I loved seeing what you all did - and believe me I didnt just glance over the edits. I enjoyed each and every one of them.

Armando and Simato - well done - not overdone - just nicely done - you pulled the best out of the images.
Jakov - now that was weird - and actually nice :)
Bjorn - I felt a bit over saturated - but loved how you changed the comp and tidied up! The NIGHT shot is SO cool - love it
Lars - I feel you succeeded in giving the foreground some extra life to match the dramatic waves.
HCS, Øivind Tøien and John Geerts - I liked your crops as well - making the most of the images very definitely. They probably DO need a crop!
Harold - great thinking out of the box and the seascape is also great - I like the tones a lot.
Fons - where is Table Mountain  ;D The last one you did is quite nice (for me that is)
Frank - good thinking!
Charlie - 9/10 for that combination  :P
Basker - yes for sure! - you made the most also of moving in closer

Sten - your edit with the silver effect is by far my favourite. When I first looked - I kept coming back to it. I can defnitely print and frame that version. Especially if done on metallic paper perhaps? Would you mind sharing your editing?
So well done Sten - post your poison next :)

The editing was pretty straight forward.
- Adjustments in ACR
EDIT - Conditioning of file by applying the Nik software filter Color FX Pro - Tonal Contrast (adjust settings to your liking) and then through Silver FX.
- Then a High Pass filtered (radius dependent on image pixel size) layer on top, blend mode soft light

To avoid to much contrast in problem areas (soft gradients), I usually erase such areas of the Tonal Contrast and High Pass layers.
