Revisiting the thread I have to add that I enjoy: "2 - Lighthouse at Hirtshals beach" very much too ... it is so ... light and fresh

#24.5 is that a house by Peter Zumtor?
Vesturkirkjan, Tórshavn,  Streymoy, Føroyar. 1975. Not sure about the architect nor 'bout designer/builder.

Hirtshals had magic light moments whenever I've been there. Thanks!

Overall there are have been too many takes. Over 9000.
Still working to reduce the leen and boneless number.

Day 5 - Iceland approach.

5-1 - shadowy approach to Seyðisfjörður (the fjord)
5-2 - vale view
5-3 - vulcanic rock & erosion
5-4 - northern farm land
5-5 - arrival in Seyðisfjörður harbour

Thomas - very interesting series! The last landscape series is my favorite - looking forward to more.

Curious about how much time the entire boat trip takes? - Hirtshals to Tórshavn alone is about 35-40 hrs?

Thomas, love the first image in the latest post!  The green shades on the mountain look beautiful, although I have no idea how to pronounce its name.  :D

We think outbound and inbound travel belongs to the vacation and why not make it as interesting and relaxing as possible?
This ferry offers both - I think it's the only one out on the northern Atlantic ocean.

The timetable for 27.08-28.10 2016 was:

All times local time (take care about time zones and summer time)
Hirtshals: UTC+1 / daylight savings (+1)
Faroe: UTC+0 / daylight savings (+1)
Iceland: UTC+0 / no daylight savings (+0)

We had a 4 hrs delay in Tórshavn due to heavy weather.

Frank - thanks!
John - working on it. I'm only a little ahead in sorting and processing. Seems I need to improve my 'trash it' habit for lesser captures.
Sten- they really do. It suprised us a little. Will show some later.
Jakov - I hope that I'll deliver on the expectations.
Harald - well, in that sense: it wasn't worth it  :P ;) ;D
Lars - thank you.
Peter - sure, you are welcome. Keep my posting mood up. So much time needed for post travel picture sorting.
Akira - thanks. The name is of the fjord we have been sailing into and is shared by the little harbour town at it's end.
I've heard it in many different ways, perhaps as many as people from different countries were on the ship.

Thank's all for looking and especially for commenting!

The #33 set evokes in my the feeling of a place where fairies, elves and trolls must certainly feel at home. You captured the magic of the place...

Human forms seem to be very small compared to the mighty artifacts of nature. I wonder if that reflects in the way people in Iceland see themselves?

Frank, that first impression comes to life when you get there. I just let it flow ...

Day 6 - part 1.

The general thought: driving around Iceland against the clock while following road No 1. Leave it for gravel roads.
Mountain passes. Small coast villages. Outskirts. Waterfalls. Hot springs. Beaches. Hiking. Visit the west fjords. Lovely valleys. Have a stop in Reykjavik.
See the golden circle.

Road day - road pics. Very bright day.

6 - 1 here we come
6 - 2 view from Hellisheiði
6 - 3 up it goes
6 - 4 Route 917 via Hellisheiði
6 - 5 north view from the pass
