I have a vertical grip on all my cameras ...
The one on the D3300 is for a D5100 because when I had the D3200 no grip was available. Works fine.
The D7100 has a cheap grip but the connector to the main body is removed and it just has the AA carrier with spare flash batteries.
The D800 has the grip from a D7000...ground off with an angle grinder ,no connector and carries a spare EN EL 15
The D810 has a cheap grip ,no connector and carries a GPS tracking device marked up as a battery in case it gets stolen...
