Just googled it with surprise!  Never heard of it!  I must go there when I have a chance to go to Fujiya Camera.  Thanks for the info, Rick!

I sencerely hope that the customers are not the types of usual visitors of Japanese forums...

Found the website of the bar.  The owner tweets that a foreigner he had on June 4th made a digital back for his Nikon F3 using an APS-C sensor extracted from a Sony camera.  The F3 was unmodified.

Actually the bar is not "in" Nakano station, but is located near Fujiya Camera.

oh, you mean the super camera otaku? maybe not. but of course there may be some. most are collectors, casual photographers, young people and camera company executives. :o :o :o
i was drinking with some people from xerox and tamron there. I would like to have my F3HP's signed by mr. Goto  ::) maybe we should hang around there someday.

i may go back there this week, my friend is now visiting tokyo.

oh my hat - how nice. Why didnt we think of that before....
Mind you - here in Cape Town the guys will probably spend their time arguing about whether the bar should be decorated in Nikon or Canon. And Sony guys would stay away.

Elsa, apparently things are not too different everywhere.  The bar Rick found seems to be one of the rare exceptions to the rule.

Why is that? What are they like "those types of usual visitors of Japanese forums"?
We can't tell if we don't speak Japanese.

Peter, sorry to be unclear and too local.

I have seen so many Japanese popular photography forums marred by brand flames, and have been staying away from them.  Maybe this is not Japan specific, though, as I've seen and experienced similar situations somewhere in the more international forums.

 forums marred by brand flames,

Not at all, Akira.  Just curious, me.  Sounds like Japanese Internet forums suffer the same sillyness as everywhere else. Figures.
Thanks for clarifying.

You know, there have been some big futile disputes: Leica vs Contax (before the WWII), Canon vs Nikon, Mac vs Windows, Mirrorless vs DSLR, etc.  I'm totally fed up with such nonsense.  :(
