They make a great combo.  I have had some excellent results with these two together.

I was once told by an old photographer that it always took him quite a while to "learn a new lens".

From your many delightful postings LZ, I would say you well and truly know the 80-400mm G inside out.

      Yeah it took me some time to learn it. Especially FT, and shutter/focus/VR combinations. But once it is done, you will be rewarded with full power of one of the best lenses - ever! - today, and for lot of the years ahead. Thank you so much, Hugh, for your warm words!  LZ
