Two crops, with the last one a motion blur is clearly visible, what I like, in sport. Even 1/1000 was not enough to fully freeze the fast motion. AF was fully up to its task!  THX!  LZ

It is a huge crop, about 100%, this piece of chain. The last b/w image, full frame, almost. Thank you for your attention, Ladies and Gentlemen! LZ

Longzoom!
You convinced me of the punch of this lens–camera combination.  I have now bought the 80-400 for my D800E to use on a South Africa trip later this fall. Looking forward to it.

I wish you the biggest luck ever possible! Do me a big favor, post the images, after all! But before, be sure your combo is absolutely precise FTuned, at 400mm! This combo will not tolerate mistake even of +/- 1 unit, in FT!  Luck, again!  THX! LZ

Thank you Longzoom,

I think it is pretty spot on. Included is as model a horse instead of an antelope. I have to practice at animals at hand :) .
Preferred crop, proof of sharpness and whole original picture attached. No tripod.

It's really spot-on, Eric, indeed! I took it into my consideration, after long experience with this miracle lens, that under situation where temperature and Sun radiation varies very significantly, FT could vary as well, to +/- 2 FT units. Every combo acting like this, but the 80-400G lens is absolutely unforgivable on this regard. Beautiful horse image, BTW!  LZ

I hope to gather enough experience with this combination till we experience the Kruger park and other together. Thank you for advice.
