You got the eyes in focus, not easy with manual focus and such a lens. Very nice.

Keith and Fons, thank you. Yes, I know why I like using manual glass on the D3

Eddie, I would not have accepted the shot if the focus had been off ;) Thank you for the kind words.

Here is a nice little stitched photo of some other pets

Thank you Anthony and Andrew. Well, these are officially registered as guard dogs, and they do a pretty decent job at that.

But once you get to know them a bit better, they are really friendly. :)

My Nikon D3 came to an end (shutter failure) and as such, I borrowed a D60 to see how I get along with that instead

By now, th ebatteries of the D60 are dead as well, but here are a few pictures takn using the D60 and 85 f1,4 Af-D, focusing manually

Thank you Armando.
I am not sure when you started focusing manually. I started photography with a Nikon FM almost 25 years ago and always prefered manual focus over AF. With AF I never got the consistency I had with MF so I never indulged in it too much. It's a matter of practice however, even if a good eye helps.

Now as for the good eye, I (unintentionally) got a piece of metal in my eye 2 days ago. I hope it fully heals, otherwise I will have to learn focusing using my left eye. From the few attempts I gave it, that would be almost as tough as starting from the beginning all over again.
