.. and ready for a good long rest  :)  Nice shot.

If it was a mouse he ate then he is young I assume? Do you have other species apart from common boa?

He is 10 months old and isn't a common Boa, but a Suriname locality Boa Constrictor Constrictor.  A true red tail boa.  Common Boas are Boa Imperators which hail from Mexico and Central America rather than South America.

I have some "morphs" of Boa Imperators, but no regular common Boas.  A hypomelanistic azabache, an azabache jungle, a groovy coral albino and a hypomelanistic.

Thanks for the compliment.  I'm amazed I managed a sharp shot with it at 1/60!  Typically I need 1/200 to get sharp with the 105+5T.

Thanks for the explanation - very interesting variants I didn't know of. It's a beautiful snake species. Many years ago I had reptiles - including a Boa Constrictor. It was most likely an Imperator.

Mitsui with a watchful eye.

Jack, the dog appears to be intelligent.  Is Mitsui a Japanese name?

Tristin, I tried to convince Kristina to make photographs of the boas, but she wants to redecorate the terrarium first ;)

We'll get to it eventually. We have two Boa constrictor imperator. The "regular" version

What I can offer is pictures of a few of the other critters living with us

Well, they are fluffy :D

No, I whole heartedly recommend not to cuddle these. Not pets in the true sense. Even the two Boa constrictor imperator we have are more cuddly (and safer to cuddle) then these two ladies.

Quite right Hugh, and sometimes he comes back for seconds and thirds! He's lost his winter fur now, and he even lets me stroke him! Nice to be trusted!

My computer "corrected" the spelling. Should be Mitsu. 蜜
