Impressive.  Apparently such iridescent clouds can be seen only at both high altitude and latitude...

A Lofoten mountain enshrouded in clouds. At high latitude, but definitively not high altitude ... Perhaps the combination of low sun elevation and wet clouds caused a rainbow-like refraction? Never seen anything similar either before or after.

Last few photos just raised the bar of this thread really high. They are just phenomenal, Bjørn. Amazing to see how colorful our nature is.

And now for something a little dramatic.  Lightning inside an impressive storm over the Tucson Mountains.

Iridescent ("mother of pearl") clouds. Not very common, they are formed at very high altitudes in the atmosphere.
wow, I have never seen something like at such a large scale

Armando, I like the snappy contrast of the first clouds shot, plus the strange soft contrast used in the second clouds shot.

This is the aftermath of Storm Dawn and the clouds were scudding across the sky.
