What a place!
I hope the TV screen doesn't ruin the atmosphere.

What an intriguing place.  Love the way you include all the necessary and interesting elements, especially the signs and messages.

I wonder if the free punch in the face can be ordered along with bloody mary as a set...

Great atmospheric detailed shot. A typical US-bar, I presume?

Thanks for the comments.

This place would be so much better without the TV, as this bar has been in existence since the early 1930's.  It was a speakeasy at one point during Prohibition.  It is my favorite bar.  It is located in what has now become a tourist area, but few tourists visit it.  Most of the patrons are locals.  It is dark, sometimes it gets a little rowdy, lots of bikers, fast women every now and then, and cheap booze.  The place is perfect.

One would think that fithing booze in such a place can prove being a very much Sysiphusian predicament  8)
Intriguing image like a scene from a 'film noire' movie.
The TV seems to be about the only concession to modern times.

I like it a lot.

When in Texas ... That's the typical place my Texan friends would take me to when I visit. My California dress would never fit the occassion.

Thanks for all of the comments.

Gary, if you ever make it down my way, let me know.  There are a few dives I can take you to for a drink or two..... 8)

I like this...been to some of those bars while I lived in OK. Travelled a lot to Houston/San Antone/DFW area.
Have you been to the allegedly oldest saloon in Gruene, TX? Has the swing doors, a stove and a massive bar desk.

Yes, that is Gruene Hall, the oldest dance hall/bar in Texas.  I was there once.  Great place.  Unfortunately, it was one of the few times that I did not have a camera with me.  This was years ago and a friend took me there on an impromptu visit.

Another one of my favorite bars is in Tulsa, OK.  The Mercury Lounge.  I love that place.  I am planning a trip back to Tulsa sometime in the summer of next year.   Tulsa reminds me a lot of Austin.

We didn't go to Mercury Lounge but another one on S. Peoria Ave.....not far from where I lived (across the street from Southern Hills Country Club)
