I would like the just-sent message to be copied and saved into my (the sender's) outbox "as default" without clicking the checkbox.  Otherwise I cannot review my own message that I sent, unless the receiver quotes my message in his/her reply.

Sorry to nitpick, but I would be glad if you would take it into consideration.

Every one has to set this option by themselves, there is no global default.

    Change Settings  (tick the Save Copy box, then Save)

SMF has a bewildering range of settings for admins and users alike. I had to look up the setting ...
