Jakov, you can have no appreciation of just how pleasant your snowy image looks and feels right now to a man that has endured a 41 Dec C day here in Melbourne and 44 Deg C is expected tomorrow.  Aargh!

A hot summer for us this year.

Go to the Australian Open, I heard they have a roof and a fully air-conditioned arena :)

Try putting this on the top of your head ... a natural block of ice frozen on a river bank, as found and captured today with the 55CRT-Nikkor f/1.2 lens on the Z6.

Looks promising, Birna.  Could you disclose a little bit of technical data?  The approximate focusing distance and the aperture, maybe?

I love the beautiful and subtle colours and the interesting textures in Birna's Ice Cube.

Camera was running 1600 ISO as the weather was really dark ... yet this capture used 1/8000 sec with the lens around 1:3 magnification and aperture probably around f/4 (no feedback into the EXIF). Ice is bright.

This setup has been shown earlier in the Z6/7 Camera talk thread, so suffice it here to say the lens will focus from infinity (at which distance the quality is atrocious and only the on-axis part has any likeness to a focused image) to around 1:2, thus encompassing the optimum 1:4 ~1:5 magnification.

Thank you for the details!

Thank you Birna - just what the doctor ordered!
It has peaked today at 41 Deg C, but we have had a cold change accompanied with high winds (which has just blown out a section of my fence at home).  Aargh!

Try putting this on the top of your head ... a natural block of ice frozen on a river bank, as found and captured today with the 55CRT-Nikkor f/1.2 lens on the Z6.

The tennis centre has recently had its roof closure feature speeded up, so it can now be closed in a matter of just a few minutes rather than over a half hour wait previously.
What we have down here is a kind of high temperature version of the northern hemisphere's cabin fever syndrome where the high outside temperatures keep people inside their airconditioned homes and offices.  Then it gets you when you venture outside.....

I do however sympathise with those in the cooler northern climates at this time of prolonged cold for them.

Go to the Australian Open, I heard they have a roof and a fully air-conditioned arena :)
However, as you would like some snow, i would like some sunshine...
