Actually it was the D3 ... The camera split into the duo D3S and D3X a little later, both models of which are still in use..

On that SA trip, I used D3 D3, D3X, and D200. Just checked my archives.

Erik, nothing escapes your eagle eye :D I stand corrected. And should have known better :D

A renewed search in the data base disclosed that I indeed had a D3X with me on that trip besides the D3, and the D3 was yet to be replaced with the D3S. The latter model swap occurred a few months later.

Here a shot with the camera that even fits the thread ;)

Jan Anne shooting the 16mm 3.5 against the rising sun over Blide River Canyon - Having the extra pixels really does a lot when you loose so much area of the sensor with a Circular Fisheye,,,

And Jakov happily both feet on the ground again, same flight ;)

A "ghost" photographer in action. As she used a Sony with a Pentax (Takumar) lens, and I shot the scene with a Tamron 21 on my Nikon, I guess the gear diversity angle is fully covered :D

(this is a false-colour UV image in case anyone wonders, and the shrub with yellow flowers is Gorse Ulex europaeus)

Thats actually Jakovic jumping the puddle, and Jakovic is never caught off guard, he won't allow it ;D

I am the one in the balloon test-driving the D3 and 16/3.5 fish, shortly after the safari I sold all my safari gear (D300, D700, 200-400, 70-200, etc) and bought the D3s and a nice set of primes lenses like the 16/3.5 and 200/2VR.
Cheers,
Jan Anne

Erik caught me brilliantly avoiding the muddy road. It seems as though the sprinklers were making me run thanks to his composition :)
Those photos depict very special moments to me!
